Breast Cancer and Cardiac Pillows

A friend at church let us make a pattern off her breast cancer pillow. She said it really helped her when she needed it. We opened it up and unstuffed it to make our pattern. These are different from the usual heart pillows. They fit across the chest and under each arm for greater comfort during healing.
Our Dorcas Sewing Circle ministry at the Azle Church of Christ made several at our last quarterly sewing session. We came away with six, two of which we delivered to individuals and the other four to the Cancer center in Weatherford, TX.

I made six pillows, (two of each of these designs) using the one my DH received after his bypass surgery and delivered them to volunteer services.

I left them opened in the back and stuffed them with small towels as his was done.  DH said it really helped him to have a firm pillow held against the incision. They would also be good for any abdominal surgeries.

  1. Is there any way I can get the pattern for this?
I want to try and make one for a friend of mine that is going to be having a mastectomy later this month.
If possible can you please respond via email to Jayce1802@yahoo.com

    Thanks so much!
