Irish Quilt

This is the second Irish quilt that I have made. My sister asked me to make it for my nephew.

I appliqued the critters around the edges and machine embroidered the white blocks in the center of the quilt.

It is a full size quilt shown on a king size bed here.

The Irish Blessing is in the very center of the quilt.

The first Irish quilt I made was for my Mom and she gave it back to me before she passed away. It is what I consider an heirloom quilt. I also appliqued these same critters on it. But I hand embroidered all others.

I embroidered the last names of both sides of family with maiden names and the counties in Ireland where family came from.

This is the label I put on it.

These were hand quilted on the solid green blocks.

    1. Shirley, I quilted this one. Jerry has not been quilting much but working in his shop. Thank you for your comments.
