He Spoils Me.

Can you believe he drove me to downtown Dallas to purchase a $10 charger for my camera that was on Craig's list? I have been looking for once since mine apparently was swept into the trash and thrown out. I bought a replacement immediately,  but it is HUGE and I take my little camera and charger everywhere with me in my purse.  I am so happy with this smaller one.

I thank God everyday for my DH!

Grandpa's Visit

DH's Dad was here for a visit. We picked him up Saturday morning and he spent the day with us. He had a good time playing with the dogs.

Grandpa took a very short nap and I always have my camera ready!

Someone else was napping too!

Daisy is ALL about playing - she has two favorite toys- a ball and cloth frizbees that I make for her.

She takes naps too.

Darlin' has not learned to play yet but likes to grab the toy and drop it. She stayed right next to Grandpa on the love seat the whole time and finally used his arm for a pillow. He teased her by blowing on her and she'd get up, turn around and flop back down again. He sometimes forgets her name so he calls her "Blacky". You can see why from her pictures.

I am so glad he gets so much enjoyment from our fur babies.  They make him happy and he makes them happy. They can't wait for him to get in the door and get set down before jumping in his lap and giving him lots of puppy kisses.  We have to keep them confined in the kitchen until he gets settled as he uses a walker and is not very steady on his feet.  I am afraid they would trip him and he'd lose his balance so we grab them when ever he needs to get up.

It was a good day!!

Oh, How I Hate Senior Moments . . .

For some reason, I thought yesterday was Friday - all day. Didn't realize it until my DH asked me over coffee this MORNING, what I was taking for lunch today - at the church Sunday lunch!!

So  . . .

Chicken Pot Pie!

Roses-

Roses-

My DH played "our song" for me today on his Kindle. I haven't listened to it in a long while. Nearly drove my Mom and a certain DJ crazy with it some 46 plus years ago. It is a beautiful song.

We also listened to more of the songs we grew up with. I miss that kind of music!

New Walking Route.

We tried out a new walking route this morning.  It is MUCH better than the previous ones we have done. Not as much or as steep hills and so much easier on the knees.  I can walk longer going this route and really enjoyed it.

I Love My iPad - but . . .

my shoulder doesn't like it when I SLIP it into my oversized purse and carry it with me. After much urging to not to that, I chose to buy a almost new Kindle Fire (I love Craig's list).

I am still learning, since I have only had it for two days but DH has been helping me a lot since he has one too.  I will not give up my iPad but this Fire does slip easily in my SMALLER purse and is not nearly as heavy.  My shoulder likes this!

Lil' Devil Dog

When we got her, she only weighed 2.5 pounds but was not well care for or in good health.

She now weighs 9 pounds and very healthy and VERY ACTIVE.

I gave her the name "Darlin' " with DH's approval. At the time she looked like a "lil' darlin" but now sometimes, she resembles the "lil' devil" shown in her picture. It is almost impossible to get a good picture of her indoors because she is SO black!

Shopping, shopping, shopping!

During our visit with our sons, my daughter-in-law and I went shopping.

Three shirts from one store.

Three shirts and a pair of jeans from another.

AND . . . more shopping from my daughter-in-law's closet!! Thanks, Rosario!

Thank You Lord, For My Special Guy!

I don't know what I'd do without him. He is so knowledgeable about so many things. I think that is where our kids get it.

My favorite sewing machine has had some bobbin issues for some time. Not winding smoothly and not shutting off automatically when full.

Today, it would not wind at all! He took the top off and did his magic on it - turned the belt over, oiled it and it works fine now- winds smoothly and he adjusted it to shut off when full.

It is a computerized embroidery machine, that was in the shop less than a year ago for a tuneup - guess they missed that area.

My Daughter-in-Law needs to give me lessons-

She puppy sat for us on Friday, when we spent the day with our other son

She didn't have a bit of trouble with Daisy and Darlin' (our two pups) or Coco (hers).

They minded her perfectly well! Why, oh why, won't they do that for me?

Remodel an RV Cover-

So the RV cover at our son's house was too low for 5th wheel. Here is what DH, two sons, a grandson with a little help from daughter-in-law and myself did to adjust it to fit the height. It won't be long enough to cover the whole trailer but most of it will be under it.

There was constant supervision to make sure they were doing things correctly but that was hard work so this supervisor fell down on the job.

They cut the existing poles and added 4 feet to each pole to raise it up. Raising it up to fit the extensions in was a bit of a pain. Using a floor jack and blocks to jack it up and add the extension one at a time with the wind really blowing was not fun!! Had to trim the tree some to keep it from rubbing on the cover.

Over estimated a bit on how tall it needed to be but it's all good! With all the bolts and screws in place it is pretty stable and they added a carport to one side, which added more stability to it. They had to move the carport cover out of the way for working room on the cover, then move it back and attach it.

Our little home away from home is all set. We will be adding some utilities later, eliminating RV extension cords and water hoses but for now we are good.

We look forward to visiting more often and having and leaving family with privacy and making it easier to carry our two fur babies with us.

Aaaaaarg!

There seems to be a disagreement between Blogger, BlogPress, my iPad and Blogspot (where my blog is located). One one I cannot post at all, the other will post but leaves off every picture!! :( Just not the same without my pictures so I will either try DH's laptop or wait a few more days and use my desktop.

Neighbor PUPPY

This is the PUPPY across the alley from us that our two pups like to run the fence with. It is a 4 foot fence! Hope she doesn't get much bigger or he will be over the fence in our yard playing. LOL

And these are our girls, Daisy and Darlin' with DH.

(Darlin' is so hard to see with all that black!)

I LOVE THRIFT STORES!

My DH has great taste in his clothes. He tries to wear long sleeve shirts all year long to prevent skin cancer and after a 30 pound weight loss, needed a smaller size.

He found four shirts at our thrift store - Vanheusen - Eddie Bauer - Lands End and Cambridge Classic. All of them almost new - one I think was new - still all buttoned up.

  Well worth $17.00!
