Skype-ing. . .

We visited via Skype with our daughter-in-law and granddaughter on Monday. They are in Sofia, Bulgaria until sometime in October. Our granddaughter turned two in March and is growing so fast. She is sooooo cute.

She is very talkative and loves our family dogs. She kept saying "Daisy, come here" and "Coco". Daisy and Darlin are our dogs and Coco is our other son's dog. She did not get to know Darlin well before they left Texas but was best buddies with Daisy and Coco.

It is so nice to have Skype to visit with them - for us and them to see and hear each other is really great. I know our son visits with them often and will reunite with them soon for a month or so. Sounds like he has a nice boss who is going to let him work remotely - Bulgaria to Texas!

Murphys Law?

Why can't just one thing break at a time? Yesterday, first it was our indispensable microwave.

Then the converter/charger for our travel trailer! This was after we finally managed to pull it out from the soft dirt (mud) beside the house. Soft wet sand plus heavy trailer plus heavy truck equal spinning tires!!

Luckily, we have a spare microwave. We ordered a replacement charger for the trailer that should be here in time for an upcoming trip.

What is that saying - "If the good Lord is willing and the creek don't rise". And to quote someone very close to me, "It's awllll good!" The Lord is watching over us.

Ladies Lunch Bunch

Twenty three ladies from our church gathered at one of the members homes for lunch today. We had some great food and yummy desserts (which I should have avoided but did not).  At least I only had small helpings!

This is such a fun thing to do once a month for an hour or two for great food but mostly visiting and getting to know each other.  I hope some of the pictures, though not the best focused, will help me to remember some names since I am a fairly new kid on the block. I did meet a fellow quilter and will try to arrange a "play date"!!

Easter Blessings

We had the best Easter, first and foremost celebrating our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus. And the wonderful service at our daughter's church, with her, our son-in-law and three grandchildren and surrounded by so many loving friends of theirs who welcome us each and every time we visit there.

I carry a camera with me at all times but sometimes, like today, forgot to use it after we went to their house for lunch. We got a lot of visiting in while HD and son-in-law worked to get a router working for their computers.

I did get pictures of our granddaughter at church. She had the prettiest dress on and her Mom curled her hair - reminded me of Shirley Temple's hair.

I have been snitching pictures off facebook of other grandchildren and great grandchildren. for some time now and just got some new ones.

Our granddaughter far away in Bulgaria for a few more months.

A Few of My Favorite Things

I posted some pictures of my sewing room with the new laminate floor to a quilting blog that I frequent and one quilter asked me about a picture that was on the wall in one of them. It was a picture of a girl and I explained to her that it was a drawing that our daughter drew while in high school. She had several that she was going to throw out one day when she cleaned her room. I grabbed several, including this one.
Another one she did was the teddy bear, since we collected them at one time and the house was always full of them. My HD made the frame for this one.
Our oldest son also took art in school and this is one he gave to us.

Our younger son has special talents as well.

We display all of them in our home.

We are so proud of all of our children!

Birthday Girl -

We were so glad we could be there for Mom's 88th birthday. Enjoyed the visit with others as well and happy to see my brother, Robert come in as well for the event. I didn't get a picture of Teresa.

One of the favorite chairs in the house is Mom's. She shares it with the dogs, though. I think they all take turns warming it up for each other - including Mom.
Darlin' is especially fond of it.

Dozer has his own little spot when Mom is sitting there.

We love our fur babies!

We had a bit of wind on the way up so our little "toaster" only got 28 mpg.
Made up for it with the wind behind us on the way back. We got 36.4 mpg. One tank of gas from the Panhandle to the DFW area!   :o)
