I AM still sewing . . .

I am still doing a little sewing but have been busy with other things here lately. I did finish one baby quilt for someone but have not gotten it to her as yet. Here are pictures of it.

Another top I finished and is ready to quilt:

And a favorite of mine ready to quilt:

This is the backing fabric for it.

More Laminating -

We decided to do the rest of the house and are starting with my sewing room. It will make it so much easier to clean up the threads off the laminate instead of the carpet.

I/we cleaned out the sewing room (or most of it yesterday) but still had a couple of pieces of furniture to move. HD helped with the heavy stuff but I moved the rest so I'd know where I put things.

We managed to get it all in the guest room except for one LARGE counter cabinet work surface. It covers almost one full wall and I think it took three strong men to put it in there when we moved here. HD raised one end and I put our "Grandpa's skate board" in the middle under it. Now we can easily roll it into the hall and still manage to squeeze by it.

 Guest room mess!

My sewing room guard is mad 'cause I stuffed him in a box.

 Hallway

We pulled up the carpet and padding and the trash truck hauled it off this morning.

HD got all the tack strips up, despite the "helpers"!

Now we just need to pull up the baseboards and we are ready to put the 1/4" plywood down for a nice smooth surface for the laminate.

We hope to do the master bedroom next and lastly the guest room.

Knees needs prayers!

We found what we have been looking for . . .

a church home, at the Azle Church of Christ.

We were baptized there on Saturday by our son-in-law with our daughter, three grandchildren and two special couples in attendance. We feel so much at home there.

On Sunday, after service, we were welcomed into their family by the whole congregation in a huge welcome circle. We love being a part of such a sincerely caring and friendly people. Afterward we greatly enjoyed lunch with our minister and his wife at their home.

Finished . . Part One

We decided to take up the carpet and put laminate in the other three rooms so it will be an ongoing project. But for now the entryway, the hallway and sitting room are done and looking good.

Continued . . . Project almost done!

Thanks to our son-in-law's expertise help, our laminating project is almost done. We just need to get baseboards back up and transition strips down when the order comes in. We love the new look! They make a great team!

Project Has Begun -

We finally got around to a project we discussed almost two years ago. We are taking carpet out of the entryway, hallway and sitting room and replacing it with laminate.

First we took out carpet and padding.

Then we put down a layer of hardwood plywood over the existing wood floor.

This is the shade of what is now in our office and we wanted to match pretty close. I don't think we got exact but not too far off.

This is the new laminate - not too far off.

And then . . .

Since our son in law is so experienced, we asked for his help since this is one thing we have never done before.

To be continued . . .
