Do you remember Autograph books?

 Vinyl Autograph Books
I had a blue autograph book in high school that all my friends and  classmates signed, then folded the pages back. I also had some other autographs in it – I went to some country music events and got Jim Reeves and Marty Robbins to sign my book.

Over the years, I lost the book but had pulled one page out to save and I am sure it is here somewhere – probably behind a picture in a frame. It is one my Mom wrote. She thought about it for quite awhile before she wrote the following:

'Tis sweet to meet
But sad to part,
You are the darling of my heart,
I do believe that Christ above,
Created you for me to love
And sent you down from all the rest
Because HE knew I'd love you best!

I know Mom feels this way about all eleven of her children (Joe Pat, Christine - *that's me*, Harold, Robert, June, Tom, Marge, Kathy, Faith, Barbara & Teresa). She is a special lady!

I love you, Mom.  Happy Mother's Day!

And Happy Mother's Day to all
the Mothers, Grandmothers and Greats out there!!

Puppy teeth

Our little Darlin' had a vet appointment to see about a tooth. It is a baby tooth that won't let go. She had several stubborn ones but the others finally came out.
We took her in this morning to have it removed and should be able to pick her up early afternoon. Hopefully she will have no trouble so she can get back to chewing up everything! LOL
Daisy is missing her even if Darlin' does her share of picking on her.

Lost . . .

Okay, here is how it went - we decided to take our 2 mile walk yesterday afternoon since we did not go first thing in the morning. About half way through the walk, we remembered that our little Darlin' had a vet appointment. We took a "shortcut" thru the briars to get back quicker.

We didn't come out where we thought we would and it took a few minutes to figure out just where we were. We are not really familiar with the neighbor hood - just our standard 2 mile route.

Well, our "shortcut" was NOT and the walk totaled 2.1 miles but we were movin' on so we made it in the 2 mile time we usually do. No more shortcuts for us! We were only one minute late for her appointment.

He is there now.

We took our DS to the airport at lunch yesterday to fly to Bulgaria for a few weeks visit with his wife and little two year old daughter. Our DIL has a business there to take care of as well as a visit with her family. They visit daily on Skype but not the same as being there in person. I know he is looking forward to lots of hugs and kisses! We send ours as well.
Such a good looking family!

It is a working vacation for him as well. His employer allows him to work remotely so he has worked from here most of the few days he has stayed with us. That is great that he is allowed to do that. Hope it all works out for him there as well - paychecks are important!!

I HATE CHANGES!!

Now that that is said and out of the way, my DH has been telling me, for some time, that I need to update my desktop Linux operating system. It is at the point that it will no longer be supported. He has checked out several and found one he likes and thought would work for me.

I have a different setup than most people - my main system is Linux but I also have Windows on a virtual drive on my system since I have some programs that only run on Windows. He has worked on it for two days and finally put the drive in the computer instead of trying to set it up with the external drive. Several things just did not work and it really slowed things down. He worked on it again, got disgusted 'cause nothing was working right and put me back on my old system's hard drive.

DH does NOT like Windows so it is a chore to work with. It has been so long since I have used Windows, except just the few programs I use, I don't know much about it. Linux is so much easier and more stable to use and I have been using it for several years. Plus so many programs for it are FREE!!!

He is now checking out another on his computer. If it does well there he will check it out on my system.

Will be another blog I am sure!

Mustard Seed

Matthew 17:20
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

When I was in grade school, my best friend gave me a gift set - a necklace and bracelet with a mustard seed globe on them. I wore them a lot back then and still have them. I think of my friend when I see them. We both had the same first and middle names so the teacher called her by her first name and me by my middle name. I have long since lost track of my friend but not of the childhood memories we shared.

I never really thought much about the mustard seed until here lately. My dear daughter gave me a bracelet with the word FAITH and a mustard seed on it. It is very simple but beautiful and a constant reminder of the meaning behind the mustard seed. In addition, a reminder of the sister I lost, Faith.

Trouble and Double Trouble!

(Alias Daisy and Darlin ')
They dig up the back yard, want to get up and go out at 4:00am and chew up their toys, but give the best puppy kisses and hugs - ya just gotta love them!
