WonderFULL Thanksgiving Day!

We really enjoyed the day with Sheri, Perry, Brenden, Jacob and Emma.

We also got to share it with my HD's Dad, R.E. and brother, Robert.

And I can't leave out our Daisy and Sheri's Daisy Mae with their good friend, Grandpa!

Everything was so good! Sheri and Perry brought turkey, dressing, giblet gravy, candied sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie.
We contributed Ham, plain sweet potatoes, rolls, cranberry sauce, fruit salad, cherry pie and pecan pie.

Also presented RE with a Boston Cream Pie that had "Happy 39th Birthday,  Dad". His birthday is today and he turned 86!!

It was a very enjoyable day.

Our Twenty Dollar Barbeque Grill. . .

 We started with this:

And finished with this. We like cooking this way, doing it all at one time. We freeze it in serving sizes, then pull it out for meals, either zap it in the microwave or put in toaster oven. Add some veggies, a potato or a salad and it's ready!  HD cooked 16 burgers, 15 chicken breasts, 12 pork chops and 10 hot dogs.

Grandkids like the hotdogs too (when I leave some). :0)

This piece had to be tested for quality assurance (split it for lunch). Umm, I did have to quality test a hotdog as well to make sure it was OK for the grandkids!

I got six inches cut off my hair. . .

. . . OK, it just FELT like six inches.

I LIKE IT !!!

It Was Dark As A Dungeon Way Back In . . .

The BEDROOM !

I am a light sleeper.

I finally got curtains done for my bedroom - yes, they are very dark but have a panel so I can pull them back to let light in during the day.

I am one of those people who doesn't fall asleep easily and once woken up, stays awake for hours trying to sleep more.

For the past eight months (since we moved here), I have been waking up between 2:00am and 3:00am EVERY mornîng. We have a neighbor who does shift work - I know this as I hear the car, see the headlights and the SPOTLIGHT, porch light that lights up my whole room through the blinds EVERY night between those hours.

Our new puppy, Daisy, shares my bedroom and also has been waking up, only she thinks it is time to get up!

Did I mention I am a light sleeper?

I do not know who the neighbor is, but am glad he has a job with the economy in the shape it is today.
Last night was my second night with my new curtains and I slept SO GOOD both nights!! So did Daisy.

It's Calendar Makin' Time

Mercy, I looked at my November calendar and there are TEN (10) events on it. One anniversary and nine are birthdays (and one pending – Lene). Oops, another one just got added – some I forgot to get information on previously.

I try to keep up with all additions and changes to the family to keep my genealogy database up to date and the family calendars I have been making for Christmas every year for about the last twenty years or so. I do slip up every now and again but try to remind everyone to keep me updated and it's that time again. I do have some updates to make on HD's side as well. I think this year there will be 25 to 30 calendars going out between my side, my HD's side and our kids & grandkids.

Cover page designs are all done. I just need to update the calendar for each, after the new arrival gets here, print them out and make copies. I don't know what I'd do without my calendar program that keep all my event information and calendars from year to year for me. Years ago, when I first started doing them, there was no program so I had to manually go in and change the days on each month to the proper day of the week, then input each event, birthdays and anniversaries every year. This was a chore when you have a large family. Mom & Dad had 11 children, 4 boys and 7 girls.

Now the numbers for my Mom are as follows (IF I counted right).
19 Grandchildren
27 (+ 1 Lene) Great Grandchildren
4 Great Great Grandchildren
